মিনার্ভা থিয়েটার ছেড়ে, গিরিশচন্দ্রের সঙ্গে কতকালের সম্পর্ক ধুলোয় মিশিয়ে দিয়ে নিজের থিয়েটার গড়তে গেলেন অর্ধেন্দুশেখর মুস্তফি। আর, রবীন্দ্রনাথ ভাইপো বলেন্দ্রনাথকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে পৌছলেন শ্রীক্ষেত্র পুরীতে। সারাদিন সমুদ্রস্নান আর অলস দিনযাপনে স্বপ্ন দেখছিলেন রবি, এখানে নিরিবিলিতে একটা বাড়ি বানিয়ে থেকে যাবেন। তিনি জানতেন না, কি অসহ্য এক অপমান তাঁকে সহ্য করতে হবে শীঘ্রই।
