কলেজের বন্ধুদের ক্যান্টিনের আড্ডা, এক্সকারশনে যাওয়ার উত্তেজনা সব কিছুর মধ্যেও বৃষ্টি বারবার একা হয়ে যায় মনে মনে। শৈশবে বাবা মায়ের সম্পর্কের ভাঙ্গন বৃষ্টির মনে যে ক্ষত, যে একাকীত্ব, যে অসহয়তার বীজ রোপন করে দিয়েছিল আজ আঠেরোয় পা দিয়ে তা বিষবৃক্ষ হয়ে উঠেছে। যার ঝুরিগুলো এখন সর্বক্ষণ আষ্টেপৃষ্ঠে বেঁধে রাখে বৃষ্টিকে। তাই সে প্রেম ভালবাসায় আর ভরসা করে না। উচ্ছল হতে পারে না। হাসি ঠাট্টা গল্পের মাঝেই বন্ধুদের ছেড়ে হঠাৎ বেরিয়ে যায় রাস্তায়।
