Synopsis:::
‘Dak Diye Jai’ is the story of Mahendra, a postman who delivers mails. He was happy with his job until he delivers the death news of Manju’s husband. He is shattered to see the life of a young girl fall apart because of the bad news he delivered. He takes transfer and goes to Baghdoba village. There he meets a small girl Mithu. Mahendra who a childless develops affections and feelings for Mithu. One day he gets a telegram carrying the death news of Ranen, Mithu’s father who was in the army. He knows that Mithu will be shattered to get this news. So, he keeps it a secret and keeps sending them money order. He borrows money from the villagers so that he can continue supporting them. but the postmaster finds out the truth and gets Mahendra arrested. Sunayani, Mithu’s mother asserts in the court that Mahendra had no wrong intentions and had lied to keep Mithu happy. Mahendra is acquitted. When they go home they get a letter from Ranen stating that he was still alive. Mahendra starts distributing mails again with new enthusiasm.
